Surviveware Trauma Shears -7.5" Bandage Scissors for First Aid, Nurses, Military and Home
- NO DAMAGE TO SKIN. These shears cut anything, except skin. Why? Our scissors are engineered & made with a blunt tip so you can safely remove clothing from the patient without causing any damage. Are you looking to upgrade your first aid kit? Safely cut gauze, splints, bandages, jeans and even seat belts during emergencies.
- STAINLESS STEEL BONDED BLADES. Sharp blades are crucial during an emergency. These blades come with milled serrations that allow effortless cutting. The premium stainless steel bonded blades are covered with black fluoride coating that ensures a non-stick surface.
- BE EMERGENCY READY. With ergonomic and comfortable handles it makes sense that our shears are so highly rated by emergency room personnel, trauma nurses and military paramedics. However, you don't need to have professional experience to appreciate how easily these medical scissors glide though tough materials.
- BE PREPARED. Whether you are a nurse in training or an army veteran, make sure you are equipped with the right tools to help not only yourself, but others as well.
- STRONG AND DURABLE. Unlike other bandage shears out there, ours are strong enough to cut through the Combat Application Tourniquet, wet bandages and even pennies. Watch our video to see these top of the line blades work their magic!

Great product and company
Very pleased with these. Our vet told us to get a pair for changing bandage on our German Shepherd's leg. For the price they seem to be a very good quality and we are also pleased with the company. Got a personalized email from company rep following through to make sure we were happy with them. Would highly recommend this company to family and friends for sure.

Great Scissors great for everything
"They worked perfectly I thought I'm going give these a real run so I got an aluminum can turned it on its side and cut it with no problem then I turn the upright cut the top were you open it and cut the top no problem no slipping of the blades no dulling of the blades. After I cut the can I got some paper and cut the paper perfectly these will last years to come."

These were completely dull on delivery - but a new pair was way better
EDIT: The customer service for these is incredible. Within a day of posting my review they had two pairs of new shears on the way to me. The new ones work perfectly, I must have just gotten a pair from a bad batch. Definitely worth the gamble of maybe getting a bad out since the customer service is so good. These shears were absolutely terrible. I bought them due to the excellent rating but they would not even cut through stockinette - only frayed it barely. Very embarrassing for a med student, would NOT recommend. Not sure if I received a put from a bad batch but I wouldn’t risk it...

Perfect for my needs
I have two pairs of the shears. I keep one pair in my Jeep first aid kit and another pair attached to my EDC trauma pack. These are good quality shears that will cut through most things you will need them for. As you can see from my pictures, they will cut through a penny and easily cut through fabric. They have a nice blunt tip that keeps them from digging into skin. I fly quite often and always carry my bag with these shears attached to the molle webbing. They are TSA compliant and I have no problems getting them through security. Overall, I am extremely pleased with these shears. If I was a full time EMT, I would probably get the Leatherman Raptor shears, but for my purposes these are very adequate. *********************************************************************************************************************************************** I rely on reviews when I make purchases so I put a lot of time into reviewing everything I buy on Amazon for personal and my business. These scissors are Great
I have another brand of EMT scissors and use them for our culinary operations, for nylon sous vide bags and wrapped product. I found these scissors and the work even better with the coating and have the large holes in the handle that the scissors fit my fat fingers. I like them so much that I purchased more. For the price they beat the expensive of kitchen scissors in quality and staying sharp for a very long time and if they get dull, toss them and get another.

Can do some cutting
I haven't used it yet, but they seem dangerous in the sense that it can really do some cutting! It's big too, seems very durable, and slides smoothly when opening and closing. I'm saving this for emergencies, such as if I were in flooded area and couldn't get my seatbelt off, I'm pretty sure this will help cut through the seatbelt. Unfortunately, this has happened in my family with a morbid result.

Great customer service
*****Update***** Survivorware went above and beyond when they realized I had an issue. They immediately shipped me out new shears without me even asking. Any company with that kind of customer service has to be pretty great! ***End update*** These shears are a little rough. I haven’t used them in an emergency yet but just me function testing them concerned me a little.

I liked the look and feel of these but they weren’t ...
Edit: excellent customer service. After posting my review (which I didn’t think was too terrible), they gave me a full refund, sent two complimentary pairs of the scissors along with a hand written note. Really impressed by the amount of thought put into keeping their customers happy! I liked the look and feel of these but they weren’t so great at cutting, even through easy materials like very thing plastic and every day items we encounter in the hospital setting. It’s okay though, I lost them pretty fast and bought a different pair.

Another Great Surviveware Product
This is the fourth product that I have bought from Surviveware (plus I have bought four of their first aid kits) and I continue to be impressed with the quality of their products and their customer service. My time tends to be split between enjoying myself in the mountains and working on the water, sometimes miles off shore, so being self sufficient is very important! First Aid training and carrying the right equipment is a big part of this. I was looking for a strong and sturdy pair of shears that were still light and compact enough to fit in a first aid kit. I was happy to see that Surviveware are now offering these as they are exactly what I was looking for. I have tested them on some thick fabric and they make easy work of cutting it. They fit in the Surviveware First Aid kit too along with their Tourniquet and Emergency Blanket.

Beyond what I expected for the price
At under $7 I was not expecting a great pair of medical shears. With that said, I am pleasantly surprised and quite happy with my purchase. I am building a trauma bag for my car and purchased the shears to go with a bunch of other items I hope never to have to use. With that said I did test the shears on a variety of cutting materials and was quite impressed. As you might expect with $7 shears, the structural stability was not great, not like the hospital trauma scissors I'm used to working with, but the edge was sharp and cut cleanly through all my test materials. I would not recommend these shears for daily professional use, but for a First Aid/Trauma/medical kit where they will be used occasionally if ever I would highly recommend. I will probably order more of these shears when I build my next medical kit.
